What is in your Moleskine?

I love my Moleskine, but I'm always a bit hesitant to start writing or sketching in a brand new one. At the moment I use mine for my 'collection' of fruitlabels. The other examples I show here are just a few random downloads after surfing the web for a few minutes. You can see more examples here or here. At the Moleskine website you can see what artists did with a Moleskine notebook in the Detour project. Some of the books are amazing, for instance the one in the video by Tord Boontje.Detour Exhibition - Tord Boontje from Moleskine ® on Vimeo.
So, what do you do with yours? Do you use it for writing, making notes, doodling or do you use it as a travel journal? I'm very curious to see what you do with it! If you feel like sharing your Moleskine send me a photo or a scan of your favorite page(s) and I'll put all the entries together in a blogpost. Needless to say, your name and website will be mentioned!

From Brooklyn to Belfast and back

This project is called Look at Book. For 36 weeks a sketchbook was sent in random order between four artists; two in Brooklyn and two in Belfast. Each artist was given five days to complete a spread in response to the one that preceded it. A small portion of each entry extends on to the following page. There was no communication between the artists concerning the content of the book, during its making.I always get so inspired by looking at these kind of projects, I absolutely love this idea.
So I call upon you all: is anyone interested in adopting this idea and create a project similar to this one? (mixed-media, international etc. etc.). Send me an e-mail or leave a comment if your interested. Please blog or tweet it forward!

Mix and match it once again

Oh, how I love these mix and match books! I bought this one in the USA a few years ago, it's illustrated by Carin Berger and published by Chronicle Books. Her illustrations are great collages made with scraps of ephemera, used clothing catalogues, and old ticket stubs. Basically, any odds and ends that she can find.
Carin Berger has a blog as well, you can see it here.

From you to me... (part two)

A few years ago I left Edenspiekermann after working there for 11 years. Working there was not only good for me carrierwise, but socially it meant a great deal to me as well. So, as a goodbye gift my colleagues gave me a poezie album. A lot of hard work was put into it, especially by Miranda, who bound all those pieces of kind words, great pictures, drawings, poetry, craftmanship and friendship together and made it into this great album/artwork!
Thanks again ex-colleagues (especially Miranda, Margriet, Jenny and Stijn)!!

100! 100! 100! 100! 100! 100! 100! 100! 100!

Post number 100 is a fact!! For this special occasion I've asked two contributors to help me. My daughter Mila, 7 years old and my son Lewis, 4,5 years old. They had to be triggered somewhat 'cause they get a drawers' block when given an assignment. I pimped the results a little, to make it even more festive.
Hopefully the first 100 posts will make you check back in now and then to see the next 100 posts! I'm looking forward to it!
