David Vogin

I came across American illustrator David Vogin through Pablo Lara's blog at Posterous. Vogin's work drew my attention because of his collage technique, which I always love. He mixes vintage images and (new) computer techniques. With it, he knows how to create just the right atmosphere. Thanks, Pablo, for sharing your interesting blogs with me!

About:blank

A few weeks ago I was asked to design a header and a wallpaper for the blog about(:)blank (a Dutch blog about blogging, written by bloggers). So I sent in these designs, a combination of my textures and collages. Thanks Aukje, for giving me this opportunity!

Latest asset

The latest asset to our house are these wonderful and colourful items from Miho design. I found this video on their website, it's as beautiful as the products are!

George Bates

Check out George Bates' work. I especially like his sketch book entries, his collages (watch closely and see how he integrates his sketches into his collages) and his rough line works. Sometimes his work is like a beautiful texture. He blogs too.

Holiday journals

Trip to Prague-Budapest-Krakow-Berlin

Hitch-hiking through France

City trip to Strasbourg and Barcelona

Holiday to the south-west of Britain

Holiday to Corsica

When we were students we used to travel through Europe. We hitch-hiked a lot and hardly ever stayed longer than 2 nights in one place. During those trips I always kept a journal in which I described our days. I used the journals to collect tickets, receipts, cards, plans etc. Looking back the books are nice time capsules.
