I bought these letters online and thought they were wooden block print. Unfortunately they weren't, they're linocut. But anyhow, worth a post, I thought!
We all know the beautiful Schleich figurines! Our kids have loads of them. And I've been collecting the catalogues since 2001. Even before I had kids... I love the way they come up with a new theme each year and how they portray the figurines as actual living creatures. For the first time in all those years I collected them, Schleich changed the page set-up to landscape instead of portrait. Too bad...
These old illustrations were ripped out of an old children' book and sold to me as original vintage prints. They are are definately vintage but I felt a bit cheated. However, the illustrations and the typography are really lovely and the small story about the animals is cute. I framed them and put them up in my daughter's bedroom.
Perhaps some of you know this game, I had never seen it before. My parents kept this in a drawer and gave it to me. Apparently my boyfriend gave it to them years ago after a trip to the UK. So beautiful and well kept!
