Life

I love old magazines. This issue of Life is from April 19th 1965. It's a special edition about the bible (as you can see).

David Vogin

I came across American illustrator David Vogin through Pablo Lara's blog at Posterous. Vogin's work drew my attention because of his collage technique, which I always love. He mixes vintage images and (new) computer techniques. With it, he knows how to create just the right atmosphere. Thanks, Pablo, for sharing your interesting blogs with me!

Needlework with the youngest

I came across this book a while ago. The book shows patterns and examples for needlework classes at primary school. In fact I recognize a lot of items I made at primary school. For instance, the last picture! I had to make that one in the colours red, white and blue, the Dutch flag.

Recycling cans

This Esty seller from Hong Kong has found a beautiful solution to help recycle. He uses sodacans for his little sculptures. He combined the concept of origami and sculpture to create a figurine that is built entirely using origami skills (no screws or glue is used). Check the website for more photos and details.

Franz Liszt

Vintage book about the life and works of Franz Liszt. The photographs in the book are beautifully printed, they almost look silvery.

First year in college

First year in Art college meant a lot of experimenting with material, colour, shapes and subjects. An interesting, difficult but exciting year.

The Pretentious Tricholoma

Pen drawings by Liliana Teixeira
The Pretentious Tricholoma lives in the woods in the middle of Portugal. He likes his pipe, his house which seems to grow new rooms every year, and drawing and documenting the beings he only ever sees briefly from the corner of his eye, before disappearing without a trace.
