Querty

Vintage typewrites are always beautiful items in my opinion, and this one especially; my grandfather used this typewriter to type his letters on.

Learning to read safely

My friend Marina, whom I know ever since preschool, sent me these scans. Our old teacher gave her this teaching aid, it's the one we learned to read with.
I can still remember the first words we learned, in my memory they were on the chalkboard for ages:
BOOM, ROOS, VIS, VUUR, MIEP, KEES, SCHOOL, RAAM, BOEK, BEL

Embroidery for religious kids

Great find, this box! Perforated cardboards for kids to learn how to cross stitch religious sentences such as 'God is love'.

Ghent Festivities

Before we went to Italy we were in Ghent (Belgium) for a day. I know the city rather well, I grew up just a few kilometres from the Dutch/Belgium border, so I often visited cities as Ghent or Antwerp. Each year Ghent is covered in a 10-day festival, called the Gentse Feesten, which is famous for its performances, music, great atmosphere and of course, a lot of beer.
My boyfriend/husband Corné Bastiaansen took all of these pictures, he has a great eye for weird situations and interesting layouts. Hope you enjoy them!

Pinocchio Country

Back home! I've been in Italy for last two weeks, at the Lago Maggiore to be precise. We had a great time in a beautiful region! Lost of Pizza, Pasta and Pinocchio! He was - how could I forget - born in Italy, so we ran into him a lot of times!

Unfortunately I did not come home with a lot of material or inspiration for my blog. I guess I was truly on holiday...
I'll post a few pictures later on though. And will show some items I bought in Gent, Belgium.
