Drawing for grandfather

My father is in the hospital so Lewis (5) and Mila (8) sat down to draw him a get well card.

Cate James

I'm so pleased to have discovered Cate James. She is an illustrator and hand lettering artist based in Edinburgh, UK. Her artwork is a digital combination of pencil drawings, collaged textures and strong colour. I love the way she uses hand lettering in her illustrations, her work looks very 'quick and dirty', a style I really admire. Check out her blog too!

Tinkertoy

I bought this Tinkertoy set at a fleamarket last week. I had never seen it before but checking Wikipedia I came up with this:
'The Tinkertoy Construction Set was created in 1913. It was designed by by Charles H. Pajeau and Robert Pettit after seeing children play with pencils and empty spools of thread.
The cornerstone of the set is a wooden spool roughly two inches (5 cm) in diameter with holes drilled every 45 degrees around the perimeter and one through the center. With the differing-length sticks, the set was intended to be based on the Pythagorean progressive right triangle.'

Unfortunately, this set isn't complete.

Crowdsourcing

All the vintage items on this blog are part of my own collection, but having so much 'junk' in our crowded house I feel it's time for some spring cleaning. So I intend to open a WEBSHOP!

That's where you all come in... Who can give me some advise? Should I open an Etsy-shop? What works, what doesn't? Et cetera! Please help me make this possible. E-mail me at ellenturningpages@gmail.com or leave a comment.

I will be very grateful with some words of advise!

A vintage sneak

Sneaking around in a strangers' photo album feels a bit weird. Buying one, with the photos still in it, feels even more weird! These are a few pictures which were in an envelope in the album: wedding photos and a few portraits.
