Bye bye!!

Hi there! It's been a while since I posted something here. I've been busy drawing and working on my portfolio site which has taken up all my spare time. 

Besides that I've decided not to put a lot of effort in this blog anymore. The Turning Pages blog was my personal space on the internet where I showed my portfolio, where I collected inspiration and where I archived my vintage stuff. 

All of that has changed:

- I have a portfolio site and blog 

- I collect my inspiration on Pinterest 

and... I've decided to stop collecting vintage stuff... My house was getting too cluttered! 

I hope to see you on Pinterest, Instagram or any of the other social media.

I hope you enjoyed my blog, I know I did :-)

I've been busy working on my portfolio website. It's finally done! Of course I'll refresh it from time to time, as soon as I have documented new work.

From now on the blog 'my absent mind' will mostly show sketches, the process and expos.

999th post giveaway - the results

First of all I want to thank everyone who commented on my post. It was so wonderful to see multiple retweets and even a few mentions on blogs and websites. Heartwarming! 

I must admit I was a bit scared only a few people would leave a comment. I'm so happy to realise more than a few did so!

Finally, the results. I gave everyone a number, depending on the gift they were aiming for. I used the random generator to pick a number in each category:

7 entries for the Djeco stickers and Hiskia won! Congrats!

7 entries for the vintage memory game as well, Maike won! Congrats!

15 entries for the collected doodle print. Aukje won, congrats!

And finally, the black and white doodle was the most popular one. (Which I actually didn't expect)

Erica Read & Dear Janit

I came across Erica Read's work through Twitter. I opened the wonderfully funny blog Dear Janit and saw her lovely illustrations. They remind me of Eric Carle's work. Go see the blog and don't forget to read the letters!

My absent mind

I started a new blog today! It's called 'My absent mind', which refers to the way I make my doodles, pattern or structures: the mindless drawing, the wandering mind.
On this blog I intend to show my own (illustrative) work, most of it will be doodles or collages. But you never know what might pop up.

What a fantastic suggestion Google did the other day! In my Google dashboard I stumbled upon this wonderful blog All the buildings in New York by James Gulliver Hancock. He makes an attempt to draw all the buildings in New York.
